Teacher strategies refer to the various methods, techniques, and approaches teachers
use to facilitate learning and improve students' understanding of vocabulary. These strategies
are designed to help students acquire and remember new words more effectively and are
tailored to teacher preferences, student needs, and the classroom environment.
This research aims to determine the strategies are used by English teachers in teaching
vocabulary at Junior High School Al-Islam Joresan Ponorogo. As well as the implementation
strategy in vocabulary learning. In addition, this study also aims to determine the supporting
and resistor factors in the implementation of teacher strategies in teaching vocabulary.
Furthermore, the significance of the research was expected can be useful to increase
knowledge and be useful of the research results that achieved to obtain broader insights.
The study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. This study was conducted at
Islamic Junior High School Al-Islam Joresan. The data collection technique uses observation,
interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used data reduction, data display,
and conclusion. Checking validity using observation persistence and triangulation.
Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that strategies that teacher
used are: a) Word spelling, b) Memirization, c) Drilling. The success of the basic learning
process depends heavily on three main factors: a) Motivation, b) Learning strategies, c)
Learning environment. The supporting activities are: a) MTQ in four languages, namely
Arabic, Indonesian, Javanese, English, b) English Club, which can support students’
understanding abilities
