It is undeniable that Islamic boarding schools are Islamic educational institutions capable of improving human resources. One program to improve human resources in Islamic boarding schools is the tahfidz program. To implement the tahfidz program, a concept of personal mastery is required.
This study aims to determine and describe (1) personal mastery among students in the tahfidz program (2) factors influencing personal mastery among students in the tahfidz program and (3) the impact of personal mastery on the memorization of the Qur'an among students in the tahfidz program at the Mamba'ul Huda Islamic Boarding School in Sendang Jambon, Ponorogo.
In this approach, the researcher used a qualitative research method. The type of research used in this study is descriptive research. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study were carried out in four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data in this study used source triangulation, technical triangulation, and time triangulation.
Based on the results of the study, it was found that (1) Students in the tahfidz program at the Mambaul Huda Islamic Boarding School in Sendang Jambon, Ponorogo have implemented personal mastery to improve their memorization of the Qur'an. (2) The tahfidz program at the Mambaul Huda Sendang Jambon Ponorogo Islamic boarding school has internal and external factors. (3) The positive impact that can be seen from the personal mastery of the tahfidz program students is that their memorization becomes smooth and easy.
