Abstract
Learning concentration is the ability of students to concentrate and focus on the subject matter. By concentrating, students can absorb and understand the material and information well. The problem found in SMA Negeri 1 Jetis in the subject of Islamic Religious Education, that students' learning concentration is still low. This can be seen from the presence of students who are less focused in the learning process, do not take notes of the material presented by the teacher, chat with their friends, are less enthusiastic, students who are busy with their smartphones. This can be associated with factors that influence the lack of learning concentration, namely, lack of student learning motivation and a non-conducive learning environment. High learning motivation can increase students' attention and concentration, while a supportive learning environment can help students to be more focused.
This study aims to (1) Analyze the influence of learning motivation on student learning concentration in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Jetis. (2) Analyze the influence of learning environment on student learning concentration in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Jetis. (3) Analyze whether there is an influence between learning motivation and learning environment in influencing student learning concentration in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Jetis.
This study uses a quantitative approach with an ex post facto research design. The population in this study were all students at SMA Negeri 1 Jetis totaling 137 children. The sample in this study amounted to 102 students determined by William Cochran formula. Data collection is done through questionnaires, then analyzed using simple and multiple linear regression.
The results showed that (1) Learning motivation has a significant effect on student learning concentration in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Jetis with a percentage of 4.8%. (2) Learning environment has a significant effect on student learning concentration in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Jetis with a percentage of 3.9%. (3) Learning motivation and learning environment have a significant effect on student learning concentration in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Jetis with a percentage of 7.8%.
