This research is motivated by the importance of developing moderate character values in schools as an effort to prevent intolerance among students. The Rohis Misbahusy Syabab Discussion Forum at SMKN 1 Jenangan Ponorogo serves as a platform for religious guidance that plays a role in instilling balanced, tolerant, and peaceful Islamic values. Through discussion activities, students not only deepen their understanding of religion but also learn to think openly, appreciate differences, and act fairly in social interactions.
The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the Rohis Misbahusy Syabab Discussion Forum in shaping moderate character, to explain the implications of its activities on the members’ religious behavior, and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation at SMKN 1 Jenangan Ponorogo.
This study employs a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving the Rohis advisor, administrators, and active members. The data were analyzed descriptively through stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
The results of the study show that the implementation of the Misbahusy Syabab Rohis Discussion Forum was carried out in a planned and routine manner through: 1). The stages of planning, implementation, guidance, and evaluation. 2). This activity had a positive impact on the formation of moderate character among members, as seen in their open, fair, peaceful, and wise attitudes in interacting with others. 3). Supporting factors for the activity include full support from the school, coaches, and a conducive school environment, while inhibiting factors include financial constraints and time conflicts with academic schedules. Overall, this forum plays an important role in shaping a young generation that is religious, tolerant, and moderate in character within the school environment.
