Abstract
characters based on the values of Pancasila. The challenges of the current era, with
increasingly sophisticated technology, have caused many young people to forget
the values of Pancasila. Phenomena such as bullying, fighting, and deviant behavior
are not in line with morality that illustrate on Pancasila values. Moral values are a
component of developing good character. The process of characters development
involves social interaction. This interaction uses language. However, not all
language used may be fully understood. Social deixis is used to analyze the context.
In the context of movie, social deixis also plays an important role in analyzing the
relationship between characters. A movie can represent social reality through the
dialog of the characters. The movie Avatar the Last Airbender 2024 directed by
Lauren Montgomery in 2024 is an adaptation of the hugely popular animated series.
This movie is worth researching because it contains a variety of moral and social
messages that can build the character of students, as well as being relevant to
strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile.
The research aimed to analyze the types of sosial deixis using Levinson's
theory. It also determined the moral value that secured on the movie Avatar the Last
Airbender 2024 using Lickona' theory. Furthermore, the study identified the
relevance of these moral values to the pancasila student profile as reflected through
the characters’ interactions and behaviors.
This study employed qualitative research design with a descriptive approach.
The data were obtained from the transcript of the movie Avatar the Last Airbender
2024. Then, Documentation was used to collect the data. Meanwhile, these were
analysis throught content analysis.
The findings indicate that there are two main types of social deixis used in the
movie, namely relational and absolute. Within the relational type, consist of referent
honorifics 28 data, followed by addressee honorifics 7 data, audience honorifics 2
data, and formality levels 3 data. Meanwhile, the absolute type is represented by
authorized speakers 1 data, authorized recipients 1 data, and honorific concords 6
data, while diglossic variants do not appear in the findings. The moral values in the
movie Avatar: The Last Airbender 2024 directed by Lauren Montgomery, consist
of Moral knowledge 11 data, Moral Feeling 15 data, Moral Action 12 data in
relational sosial deixis. Then, In absolute sosial deixis that consist of moral
knowledge 2 data, moral feeling 2 data and moral action 4 data
