Student activeness supports the perfection of teaching and learning in schools. However, many students are indifferent and do not participate in the learning process, especially in Islamic Education subjects. They view them as uninteresting and boring. The learning methods implemented by teachers play an important role in increasing student activeness. However, many teachers still do not understand the most effective method to increase student activeness, especially in Islamic Education subjects.
This study aims to (1) determine the student learning activity of SKI material using lecture method, discussion method, and presentation method at MAN 1 Magetan in the 2025/2026 academic year. (2) determine the significant differences in student learning activity of SKI material between lecture method, discussion method, and presentation method at MAN 1 Magetan in the 2025/2026 academic year. (3) determine the significant differences in student learning activity of SKI material between lecture method, discussion method, and presentation method partially at MAN 1 Magetan in the 2025/2026 academic year.
This study used a quantitative approach with a comparative research type. The population of this study was all 187 students of class XII at MAN 1 Magetan, and the sample was 75 students taken from classes XII-A, XII-B, and XII-C. The sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique. This study used questionnaires, observation sheets, and documentation as data collection instruments. To answer the above questions, descriptive and parametric inferential statistics were used. Data analysis with prerequisite/assumption tests using normality tests and homogeneity tests as well as hypothesis tests using one way ANOVA and Scheffe tests.
The results of the study showed :
1. The learning activity of students in SKI material with the lecture method was not optimal, with the category of Quite Active, namely with a percentage of 74.1% or as many as 20 students, the remaining 25.9% or as many as 7 students had a level of learning activity with the Active category and there were no students who had a level of learning activity with the Less Active and Inactive categories. The learning activity of students in SKI material with the discussion method was not optimal, but better than the learning activity of students in SKI material with the lecture method, with the categories of Quite Active and Active, each of 50% or as many as 13 of 27 students and there were no students who had a level of learning activity with the Less Active and Inactive categories. And the learning activity of students in SKI material with the presentation method was optimal, with the Active category, namely with a percentage of 72.7% or as many as 16 students, the remaining 27.3% or as many as 6 students had a level of learning activity with the category of Quite Active and Inactive.
2. There is a significant difference in student learning activity of SKI material between lecture method, discussion method, presentation method in MAN 1 Magetan Academic Year 2025/2026. This can be seen from the sig. value, namely 0.000 <from the significance level of 5% (0.05), so it is concluded that H1 is accepted.
3. There is a significant difference in student learning activity of SKI material between lecture method, discussion method, presentation method partially in MAN 1 Magetan Academic Year 2025/2026. The results of further tests using the Scheffé test, it can be seen that there is a difference in learning activity in students who follow SKI material learning using the lecture method with the learning activity of students who use the discussion method and presentation method. However, the learning activity of students who follow learning using the discussion method is no different or the same as the learning activity of students who follow learning using the presentation method.
