The learning process of Aqidah Akhlak in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah still frequently uses conventional methods such as lectures and memorization, causing students to lose focus and become easily bored during the learning process. In addition, the lack of varied learning media makes students less interested in participating in classroom activities. Therefore, an attractive learning media that suits elementary school students’ characteristics is needed, one of which is educational comic media.
The objectives of this study are: (1) to determine the application of educational comic media in learning Aqidah Akhlak for 5th grade students at MIN 9 Magetan, and (2) to determine the increase in learning focus of 5th grade students after the application of educational comic media in learning Aqidah Akhlak at MIN 9 Magetan. This study aims to describe the application of educational comic media in learning.
This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The research was conducted at MIN 9 Magetan with research subjects being teachers and fifth grade students. Data collection techniques were carried out through (1) observation, (2) interviews, (3) documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data collection, data condensation, data presentation and drawing conclusions to obtain an in-depth picture of the focus of student learning in the use of educational comic media.
The results of the study show that: (1) The application of educational comic media in learning Aqidah Akhlak, students become more enthusiastic, active, and able to maintain attention during the learning process. Educational comic media also helps students understand the material more easily through the presentation of interesting images and stories that are contextual to everyday life. (2) The use of educational comic media is able to increase students' learning focus, create a more enjoyable and interactive learning atmosphere so that it can improve the quality of Aqidah Akhlak learning in class V at MIN 9 Magetan.
