Abstract
ABSTRACT
This research is motivated by the researcher's interest in analyzing the contents of the book “Menjaring Ilmu Sharaf” because the book is presented in a simple and easy to understand way, and contains many examples taken from verses of the Qur'an. Another factor that makes the researcher interested in researching this book is that the book “Menjaring Ilmu Sharaf” presents comprehensive content, and the materials in it are arranged practically and systematically. The researcher also views the importance of analyzing the contents of this book, because the use of books that present materials systematically is one of the important factors that contribute to the success of teaching Arabic and must receive great attention.
This study aims to analyze the shorof material in the book “Menjaring Ilmu Sharaf” using W.F. Mackey's theory related to selection, gradation, presentation, and repetition. On the other hand, the researcher wants to analyze how the book “Menjaring Ilmu Sharaf” can be useful in teaching Shorof.
In this study, the researcher uses a qualitative approach with the type of research being library research. This study aims to collect data and information with the help of various materials and documents available in the library. These include books, documentation, and other literature sources that are relevant to this research.
The results of this study show that the design of the material presentation is quite good as a learning book for Shorof, viewed from the aspects of selection, gradation, repetition, and presentation. However, in the analysis of the selection aspect, the book “Menjaring Ilmu Sharaf” does not mention the allocation of time for learning. Yet, based on one article, it is stated that the book Al Amtsilah Al Tashrifiyyah, whose theory is explained in “Menjaring Ilmu Sharaf”, requires at least approximately two semesters: the first semester to study tashrif ishthilahi and the second semester to study tashrif lughawi.Furthermore, the book “Menjaring Ilmu Sharaf” in its utilization tends to lean towards the use of the traditional method, namely the method of Qawaid wa Tarjamah.
