Abstract
MA Al-Islam Joresan pays serious attention to the mastery of foreign languages, especially English. One of the excellent programs designed to develop students' foreign language skills is the Muhadhoroh activity. Through this activity, students are not only trained to use foreign languages actively, but also trained to be confident in speaking in public.
The objectives of this study are 1) To describe about the students' preparation for practice speaking in Muhadhoroh. 2) To describe the implementation of Muhadhoroh activities in developing the speaking skills of tenth grade students at MA Al-Islam Joresan.
The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and photo documentation. Data was obtained in the form of observation sheets, transcripts of student and teacher interviews. Data analysis used data reduction, data display, data condensation and conclusion.
Based on the results of data analysis, it is found that, 1) the preparation that students need in Muhadhoroh activities is long-term preparation and short-term preparation before performing to be more confident. 2) the implementation of Muhadhoroh at MA Al-Islam Joresan there are The MC, Tilawati Qur’an, Speech, Entertaiment, Feedback. In implementation students used 4 methods there are manuscripts method, memorized method, impromptu method, and extemporaneous method
