Keywords: Self Direct Learning, Ethnomathematics, Learning Outcomes.
Self Direct Learning is a process in which the initiative to learn with/or without the help of other parties is carried out by students themselves starting from diagnosing their own learning needs, formulating goals, identifying sources, choosing and implementing learning strategies and evaluating their own learning. Ethnomathematics emphasizes cultural values that exist in a particular region and incorporates mathematical ideas into them. Ethnomathematics is used as an approach that combines differences in students' ways of thinking in using knowledge about culture with mathematics in schools. Learning Outcomes are the level of completeness achieved by following the learning process that takes place according to the provisions. The differences in the movements experienced by students are caused by the acquisition of a lot of knowledge given during learning. This achievement depends on certain educational goals.
The impact can be in the form of changes in cognitive, emotional and psychomotor aspects. The purpose of this study is to describe: (1) student learning outcomes using the self-direct learning model, (2) student learning outcomes using conventional learning models, (3) differences in learning outcomes using the self-direct learning model and conventional models, (4) the effectiveness of the ethnomathematics-based self-direct learning model in improving student learning outcomes.
This study is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental method. The population in this study were 33 class IV C students and 29 IV D students at MIN 2 Madiun City. The data collection technique in this study used test questions. Data analysis used hypothesis testing and gain testing.
From the research results, it was found that (1) the learning outcomes in the experimental class after being given treatment obtained a high category score for 11 students and with an average score of 91, (2) the results in the control class after being given treatment obtained a high category score for 5 students and with an average score of 73, (3) the learning outcomes in the experimental class obtained a higher score compared to the control class, (4) from the results of the n-gain test, the experimental class obtained a mean score of 86.481 while in the control class it was 53.6043.
