Abstract

At SMPN 1 Sambit, there are still many students who violate the rules set, such as not entering school without permission, smoking in the school environment and so on. Therefore, it is necessary to take action to prevent and improve the attitude of discipline at SMPN 1 Sambit.
This research aims to: First, Knowing the Muhadharah activity program developed at SMPN 1 Sambit in the 2024/2025 school year; Second, Analyzing the strategy of fostering student discipline through the Friday Muhadharah program at SMPN 1 Sambit in the 2024/2025 school year; Third, Finding the results of instilling student discipline through the Friday Muhadharah program for 7th grade students of SMPN 1 Sambit in the 2024/2025 school year.
This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with a case study approach. Data collection used observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques use reduction with data collection, presentation and conclusion drawing and are related to the theory used.
The results of this study indicate that the Friday Muhadharah program was implemented by SMPN 1 Sambit to support the improvement of student discipline. In the implementation of these religious activities, disciplinary guidance was provided, the strategies for fostering student discipline applied at SMPN 1 Sambit include: First, instilling discipline in the form of routine habits of carrying out various religious activities; Second, providing examples, namely role models from teachers; Third, awareness, by calling and advising undisciplined students; and Fourth, supervision during the implementation of religious activities. After discipline was instilled in students, the strategy for fostering student discipline was applied, namely: First, giving awards (rewards) in the form of words of praise and giving grades; Second, a point system by recording students in a notebook and; Third, educational punishment given to students who were not disciplined. The obstacles experienced by teachers when fostering student discipline through religious activities were that teachers had difficulty in supervising all students.
