Bullying is aggressive behavior that is carried out repeatedly and harms others, including in the school environment. Bullying behavior can be identified in both verbal and nonverbal forms. This action has the potential to cause disturbances in the psychological condition of students which has an impact on student learning concentration so that there is a decrease in learning outcomes. This condition is allegedly related to the low morals and self-esteem of individuals involved in bullying behavior. Based on observations made by researchers at MTs Ma'arif Al-Mukarrom, bullying behavior is still found in student interactions in the form of mocking each other with peers, involving parents as a material for ridicule, being easily offended by what friends say, and sneaking in friends to trigger fights. This situation shows that some students still have difficulty managing social relationships positively, potentially affecting the learning process and comfort in the school environment.
The purpose of this study is to explain: (1) The influence of morals on the bullying behavior of MTs Ma'arif Al-Mukarrom students for the 2025/2026 school year. (2) The effect of self-esteem on bullying behavior of MTs Ma'arif Al-Mukarrom Kauman Sumoroto Ponorogo students for the 2025/2026 school year. (3) The influence of morals and self-esteem on the bullying behavior of MTs Ma'arif Al-Mukarrom Kauman Sumoroto Ponorogo students for the 2025/2026 school year.
This study uses quantitative research with an ex post facto type The population in this study is all MTs Ma'arif Al-Mukarrom students for the 2025/2026 Academic Year totaling 152 respondents. Meanwhile, the sample in this study amounted to 111, in determining the number of samples using a simple random sampling technique. Data was collected using a questionnaire, then the obtained data was analyzed using IBM SPSS Version 23.
Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that morals and self-esteem have a significant effect on the bullying behavior of MTs Ma'arif Al-Mukarrom students for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. With an R Square value of 0.674 which shows that morals and self-esteem affect students' bullying behavior with a percentage of 67.4% and the remaining 32.6% are influenced by other variables that are not the focus of the study.
