Abstract
The low level of student awareness in admitting mistakes and improving behavior is a challenge in Islamic education. This condition shows that learning Aqidah Akhlak not only emphasizes cognitive aspects, but also the internalization of spiritual values. The concept of repentance in the book Riyāḍ Āl-Ṣāliḥīn by Imam Nawawi has relevant educational value to support the objectives of the Aqidah Akhlak material. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine the concept of repentance in the book Riyāḍ al-Ṣāliḥīn and its relevance to the Aqidah Akhlak material for class X MA. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research type. The primary data source of the study is the work of Al-Imam Muhyiddin Yahya ben Sharaf Al-Nawawi, Riyāḍ Āl-Ṣāliḥīn in the chapter of Taubat and the Book of Aqidah Akhlak MA Class X, while secondary data sources are books, scientific journals, and various literature related to Aqidah Akhlak, as well as the development of students' morals. While the data collection technique is carried out through literature studies and documentation, while the data analysis technique uses content analysis through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.
The results of the study indicate that the concept of repentance in the book Riyāḍ al-Ṣāliḥīn includes awareness of mistakes, sincere regret, abandoning sinful acts, being determined not to repeat them, correcting mistakes related to the rights of others, and increasing good deeds as a form of self-change. Meanwhile, the material on Akidah Akhlak for class X MA emphasizes the formation of faith, moral responsibility, self-control, and the habituation of commendable morals. The relevance of both lies in the similarity of goals in forming students who are faithful, pious, have noble morals, and have the awareness to constantly evaluate and improve themselves. Thus, the concept of repentance in the book Riyāḍ al-Ṣāliḥīn can be a conceptual basis that strengthens the material on Akidah Akhlak for class X MA in an effort to shape the religious and moral character of students.
