Writing is a language skill that is difficult to master.
However, this skill is tends to be ignored and only
considered as part of grammar and syntax. As a result,
students do not master writing skills well. Students often
make writing errors. This includes mistakes in writing
punctuation marks and problems while arranging words into
a sentence, making mistakes in verb forms and still using
improper vocabulary choices. Therefore, students need
learning strategies that can help them achieve goals in
learning writing. One strategy that can be used to teach
writing is Learning Together (L.T). Learning Together (L.T)
organizes students to work in groups, so students can
exchange ideas in writing. In addition, students will find it
easier to understand learning material with the help of their
group mates.
This study aimed to determine whether there were
differences in the results of students who taught using
Learning Together (L.T) and those who were not. Therefore,
the researcher formulated the problem “Is there any significant difference in students' writing skills between
those who taught using Learning Together (LT) and who
were not?”
This study used a quantitative research design with
quasi-experimental. In quasi-experimental, the class is
divided into two classes. The sample of this research was XI
Grade of MA Ma’arif Al-Mukarrom. The researcher used
XI grade science as the experimental class and XI grade
social as the control class. The data collection technique in
this study used a test and documentation. Meanwhile, the
data analysis technique used normality test, homogeneity
test and hypothesis test. The hypothesis testing was tested
using a paired sample t-test with the help of the SPSS
application.
The results of this study, it was found that the average score
in the experimental class was 77.13. Meanwhile, the average
score in the control class was 69.7. From these results it can
be seen that there is a difference in the average score
between the experimental class and the control class. Then,
from the results of the paired sample t-test, a significance
value of 0.000 was obtained. Therefore, the significance
value is lower than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). So, it can be
concluded that there are significant differences in students'
writing skills between those who are taught using learning
together and those who are not.
